Potty training, crawling and a contest

So things here have been moving right along. Sawyer started potty training this past week. I was a little worried about it cuz i have never done it before (not using the potty i've done that ;) ) i didn't know how to train "pottying" lol and thinking of buying pull ups was daunting, but i asked some of my good mommy friends and got some gerber training pants, i nerded out a little thinking "yay! i love cloth diapers and cloth training pants" i was totally excited to start but didn't really know how to start and after the first 2 days of running around with no pants on and quite a few accidents, quite a bit of cleaning up floors, washing pants and very little actual using the potty i was about to give up and say "let's try again later" phew man raising kids is sure a lot of work and teaching an old dog new tricks (*wink wink* aka the parents) hahaha. but after one afternoon back in diapers i went at it again and trained myself with success! woohoo! Sawyer has stayed dry during naps and has had two days of no accidents. (most accidents are my fault for forgetting anyways... I told you training :P) so we still have to reinforce it and i'm sure we'll have accidents to come but it's looking really great! ha

maisy is crawling forwards now and doing great! she doesn't tend to go long distances and have much of an urge to go exporing, so that's great, haven't lost her yet, or her get into much trouble. she doesn't get a little more frustrated now though because she thinks she has crawling down so she wants to walk. She's standing up on everything, always wanting you to hold her hands so she can be on her feet, and gets mad if you don't let her or you take to long. but then she's her happy self again smiling with her big ole grin while he's standing. soon i'll have 2 toddlers and i'm sure maisy will be getting hurt, while sawyer drags her around. hahaha maisy isn't quite as adventurous as sawyer, maisy is more content looking at everything around her and interacting with those things instead of seeing what's around the corner and above the fridge and behind the door like sawyer is. it's fun seeing the differences in the girls. they both or so wonderful and joyful (most the time) and cute

and i guess i'm not the only one to notice how cute they are. this weekend there was a baby expo in Lincoln, and they had a cutest baby contest that you could enter for free, she i entered both the girls. and sure enough Sawyer tied for first place. (I'm sure maisy had to be up there too). but i guess she gets a bunch of prizes and cash and is going to be in our local paper! how is that for fun! ha... I'll have more information later

Homemade Memories

One good thing about having no money is staying home and falling back on classic homeiness and coming up with entertaining free activities. As I said before we've been going on walks and bike ride, these are a great favorite adventure, exploring our new neighborhood.the other day sawyer was a big girl and got to help make cookies, yummy pumpkin. She still doesn't really like the mixer but she liked dumping in ingredients and "stirring" She also liked getting to lick off the mixer :) everyone has happy memories of making cookies it's just so homey! the girls also have been big on pool and bath time. I just love that they can play together now or at least play by themselves while in the water together. isn't it the cutest when siblings bathe together!

Start of classes and new routine

At this time i am now in my 2nd week of classes. things have, for the most part been going very good. I'm moving right along in my classes, they seem not to be very hard right now and for the most part enjoyable. the girl's and i are falling into a routine already, though their schedule hasn't changed much expect for who they spend their mornings with. We still get up at the same time ( i get up with them and get them ready then go to school) and do naps the same time (after i get home from classes), we try to eat around general times and play and do the stuff we usually do. it's been very convient to have my mom and sister in law watch the girls. easier on my and the girls seem to enjoy it.
the only blip in the whole thing has been i've been waiting on my money from the school (grants) to arrive. this was very stressful to me because they first mailed it to the wrong place and then no one could tell me where it was or when/if it was coming at all... so groceries, gas, and everything else was not the easiest to get for awhile since i had NO money! but thankfully it came TODAY! God is so good! and i knew He would provide; in the middle of having no money my mom was able to sell my old saxaphone and get us a washing machine so we didn't have to drive to do our laundry (sorta a necessity when we do cloth diapers) and i was able to put some groceries on my student account to pay later. so let's just say i am beyond relieved to have the money finally come in phew!

maisy is getting much more moble now ( though not quite crawling) she can roll, move backward, turn and sit up all by herself and she absolutely LOVES standing. sometimes she yells and me till i hold her little hands and lets her stand

Sawyer is so funny her big thing lately is going on walks she wants to go one like 5 times a day (we don't go that much) she loves "wunning" with "KaKey" and picking up sticks, she usually takes one things along with us whether is be this awesome goodwill hat, or chalk in her bucket, these walks are always interesting and getting this lazy mama off her butt

the girls love cuddle time though not always together (maisy touches sawyer too much teehee) i asked my roommate to take a picture uz i hardly have any pictures of me with the girls cuz i'm the one taking the pictures (sorry we couldn't get sawyer to look at the right time or at all)

the other day at my sister's we decided to try and paint sawyer's toenails. my sister was excited, i was worried and sawyer just looked excited as usual. i did them and she sat there very still laughing every time i put more color on her nails. and she would say "cooooote" aka cute. let's just say she loved it and we have since done it again with more success!

hahah i loved this picture of maisy it was right after nap time and time for food. she just like sawyer looooooooves eating and feeding herself. and she's always the happy camper (except if she has to wait for me to give her more. lol

Change of Address

This past week we have been getting settled in our new home. We moved to lincoln for me to go back to school. Classes start on monday aahhh. It's been a strange week, good, much better than expected, but it still sort of feels like a visit. The girls have dealt well with the adjustments, in fact they hardly seem to notice the difference.
Our house (duplex) is really nice and has quite a bit of space, it's kind of funny because it's old military housing so everything looks similar but I still like it.
Once school starts some of my family will watch the girls while I go to classes in the morning, never later then 12:30 and never more then 3 hours a day. To me that's important not being away from the girls too much. Plus not getting overloaded on school either, hopefully it all works as planned.

Picky eater

So Sawyer has been such a picky eater lately. She doesn't want to eat much of anything that I give her. So I've been getting creative. Sawyer loves dipping things, anything! so in the morning I give her a little milk and she dips her cereal in, or chicken nuggets dipped in ranch, chips with salsa. Another thing I've been doing is trying to sneak in vegetables. I've made pumpkin cookies (big success) zucchini bread, carrot cake muffins, veggie fries, veggies in meatloaf. There are a few other things I'd like to try if anyone has ideas i'm all ears.

Also, to my great pleasure, casey is back home. He had been at my moms because where I'm renting the man didn't want animals in the house, but my mom said casey wasn't really eating. So I talked to the mam again and he said yes! Sawyer just lives having him back. She used to ssy goodnight to him even when he wasn't home but now she can she nigh nigh to him for real!

Getting over sickness

So this couple of days off and on sawyer, I, our even like maisy (though not really) have not been feeling the best. It started sunday with sawyer being much more attached to me then usual. Then monday I had to be holding her or be next to her for her not to be completely miserable. That night I was unable to get like any sleep, (not because of the girls) I had stayed up later then usual and then everytime I was almost asleep I'd get up coughing. That next day I was exhausted, brain malfunctioning, and though sawyer was feeling a little better I was not and I went to bed after the craziest night at work with a slight fever. Wednesday was the worst (though no fever til the evening) I was having stomach problems and had another hectic night at work... Boo... Well we were feeling much better today though maisy has developed a little cough and I was able to clean up my messy house some (i didn't do much when I was sick) so hopefully soon I'll get some pictures of my new place up for you all to see.

Dedication and first pay check

Sunday at my church was a family service sunday, which honestly I often have day dreams and glazed eyes through, but this time I decided to dedicate the girls in front of the church. Saying I will bring them up to know christ, at least to the best if my ability, and with God's equipping. So my family came down for it. It was really nice just being together and also to have them there to witness my intent.

Also in happenings, today I picked up my first check since going back to work... It's nice having my own income but also saddening knowing it's not enough. That I'll still have to find something to make more. Something will work out though, I'm sure.

Quick trip, diapers and some doctors visits

Saturday the girls, my sister and I took a day trip to lincoln. It was a a nice day traveling. We took a detour through some rural roads so my sister could check on some kids that she does tracking for with her job. It was slightly out of the way, but it's not often that we divert from our usual routes so I really enjoyed it. Plus time with my sister was also very nice, and hearing sawyer laugh at her. Lol

When we did finally get to town we stopped by my mom's then we went around town. I was giving a little money to get more cloth diapers. I was very excited because with maisy I haven't really had to buy but a few diapers for her (i was given a bunch of disposables and cloth diapers) it may be weird to some people but I'm totally excited to start maisy on cloth diapers! I really don't mind washing them and dealing with dirty diapers. Plus I really hate buying diapers all the time and with cloth I kinda feel like I'm doing some good for my girls, budget, the planet... etc. I don't know that could be a dumb reason but it's like I accomplish something everytime I wash a load.

Anyways, after buying more diapers and spending some time at the mall one of my best friends joined us and we got to eat at chipotle! Oh yummy deliciousness. I filled my belly!

On the way home sawyer could not sleep because she was coughing so bad. It made me very sad and it was the start of her weird sickness stuff (i know great technical words) Sunday she was just tired from not sleeping but monday she started getting a slight fever and little red
hive type things started coming up on her torso, so I took her to the doctor. They told me she had an ear infection and the hives were a viral rash, I got an antibiotic and tried to be appeased. But tuesday the hive/rash got worse and she started itching in the evening while we were at work. Plus what really got me was her lips started swelling. I had an appointment for a check up in the morning but didn't know if I could wait that long.

After talking to people and giving her a bath I decided to wait. It was a long night for me worrying but sawyer woke up feeling normal and though the marks were still there they were looking better. The doctor said that she was looking really good and that the hives would run their course and be fine shortly. Sawyer also though still not on the growth chart for weight is following her little curve well and has grown 3 inches and 3 pounds. I left feeling much better. Hopefully the proof of the hives goes away soon though.

A week of visits

This week has been a busy week. It seems everyone has come to visit. On monday one of my good friends, Breana was in town with her husband and son. The girls and I went to the mall and had lunch with them. Breana's son, Jaden is somewhere in the middle between Sawyer and Maisy's ages; it's fun seeing them interact and compare stories of the latest antics.

Then that afternoon my cousin and her husband were in town because the next day they were heading to omaha to fly out to florida for a vacation, I wanted to go with them, enjoy the nicer weather and see some family too, but I'm stuck here in the cold yet again. This is a picture of Sawyer covering my cousin's husband in tissue paper while he was sleeping... I have to say we did encourage it.

Wednesday brought more people. My mother came to town to see two old exchange students from Japan were in Norfolk. Mizuki, who lived with us, and Arisa, who was here the same year but with a different family.

We got to spend a good part of the day with them and part of the next. They are very funny girls and were very excited to meet Sawyer and Maisy. They took nonstop pictures and were laughing at all my girls cuteness.

Somewhere in the mix an old neighbor of mine growing up came over for a visit to net my girls and to see my mother. Sawyer I think felt very spoiled with all these new people see was getting to see. So she showed off how talkative and crazy she could be.

Overall it was a very exciting week. A little tiring but good to see so many people. It was also nice having space for people to come in and visit with us.

Doctors appt

Today was maisy's 2 month check up. She is growing, maybe not so much like a weed, but shes getting there.

That may seem little but it's bigger than before and it's right along the chart's line... Shes in the 5%-10% on the chart
Doctor says everything looks wonderful. Shes super strong and healthy, but of course we knew she would be! ;)
She did really great with the exam. Shes pretty laid back when it comes to things so getting moved about didn't really effect her much, she just sat there very nice while staring at mommy the whole time.
The only bad time was the shots at the very end, which we both fell asleep waiting for. So sad to see littles so upset.
well we go back again in 2 months we'll let you know how it goes love you

Presents

Today in the mail we got a very lovely present from GranJan and Granpy, Maisy's quilt! It reminds me of the beach with waves and sand, makes you want to have the summer weather right now. And it's right in time for some nebraska nice weather. Sawyer laid down on it like two seconds after I laid it out to look at. Maisy will have to fight for her share. :) Thanks GranJan for your handiwork!

Zoo

Valentines day my sister and I decided randomly to head to omaha to go to the zoo, since we had nothing else to do today and the weather has been so nice! (40's! sweatshirt weather compared to single digits and negatives) And it ended up being a really great time. I just love the zoo and sawyer liked running around and looking at the animals. Though a couple of times took off, shes a fast little girl.. Maisy slept most the time but I think she enjoyed the fresh air.
Another thing is I got to use my new sit n stand stroller! I've had it a little while but I've only used it at the mall, so it was great getting it out to stretch it's legs lol. walking in the sunshine and having fun. we loaded down the stroller and boy it really can fit alot. I love it! Well I hope you all enjoyed the day as well as I did love you

Hi!

Today while out and about, I realized how joyful Sawyer is. She's so great, she has to tell ¡everyone! we pass in the stroller "hi" and wave at them. She's always making everyone smile, it's like an involuntary thing when they see her. Even people that look like they would not be"kid" people tell her hi back or start talking to her. It makes me happy knowing Sawyer is so happy and friendly, she seems to love everyone, especially little kids, she seeks them out. So from Sawyer to you all "HI"

Sunshine

The weather here the last couple weeks hasn't been the most welcoming to be outside. We've had windchills as cold as -45. So to say the least we've been staying indoors as much as possible and bundling up when we do go out of doors.
But we have some good news coming our way! This next week its supposed to warm up to the 40's! How long it will stay I'm not sure but hopefully we'll get some fun in the sun. Little maisy doesn't see really anything when we go out and about as she is completely covered with blankets and sawyer gets painfully cold hands, she is know to take off her gloves in the car where mom can't put then back on, so im looking forward to maybe taking a walk or just not having to worry as much about the girls getting too child.

Moving

So A LOT has been going on. And to make things crazier, I decided we should move. Saturday we got most everything moved into the new place. It's a little house where we are renting to main floor. The elderly gentleman that owns it spends most his time in minnesota where his wife is in a group/nursing home type thing. Its nice having some more space and it will be saving us money which is always nice. It's been sort of overwhelming but it feels like a step in the right direction. Sawyer surprisingly hasn't had any issues with the move, she just likes playing in all the empty boxes. Maisy doesn't realize what's going on she just goes with the flow of things, she is a very content little baby.

Sorry for the lack of update for awhile. Just wanted to pop on and send a little hello out to you all and hoping you all had wonderful Thanksgivings.
Micah's been very busy lately working full time at a stressful job and also partime at the bookstore, which is getting busy with the holiday season. Micah also has started setting up a gathering at the bookstore where people get together and play a card game that him and several of his friends play and has been doing a really good good there.
I'm now just over 35 weeks along. only less than 5 weeks to go till baby #2 is here. it's been coming really fast and i've been slightly stressed arranging where the little girl is going to go when she gets here so christmas thoughts have kind of gotten put on the back burner. so please don't feel neglacted family if presents fine there way to you late or anything like that. you are all in our thoughts we just don't have all the means or mental capcity to be thinking on the subject much.
sawyer is being a big love bug lately, i think she knows something is coming because she just constantly is wanting to be head. some of it i don't mind like the extra hugs and loving throughout the day and before bed but it's also a hinderance to daily chores and quiet times. another reason she's been extra lovey is she has had teeth coming in, she's now up to 5! she still is happ most of the time though she seems to enjoy releasing her excitement in big bursts of screaming sometimes (trying to get them to be quieter) but she love her mommy and daddy and everyone else pretty much (social butterfly) which will be kinda nice that she's okay with others when her little sister gets here, and then we know also that she will love having a sister.

Cars, work, and happenings

So we have had much happen here. my car broke down not too long ago which we had fixed, then micah's car got a hit and run (thankfully only have to pay the deductable) friday we got micah's car back and saturday headed to lincoln for an army workshop, we got back into town and my car again broke down, acting just like it did the first time :( my car has worked so great for all the years i've owned it and then all of a sudden it just breaks, twice. we're hoping that it's just the same thing that happened last time because then the mechanic won't charge us again to fix it but if it's not then.... we'll have to find a way to pay for it. :( pray that its the same thing.

micah has started his job but we feel kind of at a loss because upon taking it we had the impression that he would be getting more hours and a little better pay they slightly deceived us with throwing a manager job at us, which it really isn't. it's just frustrating but we know something will come up and we will get everything figured out, God will provide for us when we think there is no way. He is good and i'm clinging to that.

sawyer is as active as ever and growing slowly but surely. her hair has gotten long enough for pig tails which just makes my heart dance thinking of all the fun girlie things i can do with her hair as she continues to get bigger, though it also makes me sad thinking how fast she is growing :(

i started an etsy site http://www.etsy.com/shop/Lesleyar trying to sell a few things that i've made. clothes and crafts and also a few paintings. its kind of exciting to sell things makes you proud thinking someone might want and like what you've made. i've also got a few people that want to commission me to do a few painting outside of my site. just a little extra money. always good. we also got to take sawyer to her first parade, just a couple blocks for our house. she was very excited dancing to the bands and picking up candy, though she wanted to go a little further than i'd let her go. though the weather was a little chilly it was still a good time.

Absence

Sorry that we've been way for a little while; a lot has been going on. Sawyer about a week ago had a checkup and to my great relief the doctors are finally agreeing with me and saying there is nothing wrong with her. her weight still isn't on the chart but she's following her own curve. it's just nice having this nagging feeling gone from the back of my head, trying to make me think maybe i am feeding her wrong or maybe she does have something wrong with her, worrying is not a fun game. her height is 25% so that is on the growth chart so she'll be a shortly like her mom :) nothing wrong with that though. so good news there.

and micah was offered a job and we've just been waiting on his background check so we're kinda just in limbo at the moment. we're keeping our fingers crossed there though.

Also on friday our car broke down my cute little car that i've had for years and never given me trouble :( it just makes me sad. it has been in the shop for several days. now i have no clue about cars but i was told the water pump broke which then broke the timing belt... and i'm also told that these things are both very important. :S the vehicle is supposed to get done this evening and we're hoping it's not too expensive especially with micah not starting a job yet, we're trying to trust God and not worry about finaces here but we need some help in not worrying sometimes. I'm sure it will all work out. We've been barrowing some vehicles from members of our church because our other ones don't have room for sawyer (legally lol) we thought it'd be a challege there but we've been blessed with the people wanting to help us out and offering their cars to us. very thankful we're taken care of there and that God has provided. Thank you Bilstein's and Wicker's there.

All our news seems to be tainted with good and bad, for Sunday was my birthday :) but we were sick ALL day so we were stuck inside on the couch on a very nice day, me cleaning up very dirty diapers and throw up off and on. the sickness only lasted a little over a day but has left me with excessive tiredness and a slight ill feeling lingering in my stomach that has yet to go away. I blame the pregnancy for squeezing and pressing my insides for that though lol. and though we were sick we did get to spend the whole day together just kind of lounging and had we not felt awful it would've been a very pleasant day.

We're still adjusting to being together but really everything has been going so great. I was worried the weeks prior to Micah's return and like all worrying it seems to have been a waste and all for nothing.

Though it is going very smoothly of course we have had some bumps, but even with those included it's felt just so great having micah home. both of us have some high running emotions, with my being pregnant and his stress from deployment, and we both have been so understanding. And for me just being able to watch Micah's love for sawyer

and just how much she seems to have grown to love him, it's like she's happier or more complete having him home, which is so true our lives are complete with micah home.

And we are happy that he gets to be home on his birthday and enjoy it! Micah we love you happy birthday... (one day early)

HOME!

Well Micah's finally home! friday night we picked him up at the national guard base, in lincoln where he flew in. It's so great him being home again. we've been busy seeing some people and relaxing around the house, watching sawyer. Here are a few pictures from the night we picked him up.

The last couple of days have been spent in preparation because tonight Micah is finally going to be home! We'll pick hom up at 8:50 it's all an exciting mix of emotions bembarding me. If i wouldn't have taken time out of the day to just collect my thoughts they all would have gotten out of control. just so many things to think aout and a very many i shouldn't think about and God really helped me with it. Micah has been in the States since around monday sometime and has been in Fort Hood doing debreifings and classes and turning equipment in. Sawyer has been very entertaining this week, with enjoying all her new toys she's received on her birthday. she dances all the time when there is music on and plays the piano on her new car been a little spoiled this week but it's deserved :)

She been a great distraction from all the commotion and she heightens my excitment to soon be able to share her silly antics with her daddy

yesterday was little sawyer's first birthday... hard to believe how fast that year has gone... We had a small little get together for her with some family and friends but it was a good time.we went to the lake in town and enjoyed the nice weather and guests.

Baby #2

Tuesday I had an ultrasound and found out that baby number 2 is good and healthy... everything is great and right on track. we also found out that baby #2 is also little girl #2! micah will have lots of women around but also is going to havea mighty big fan club in his own home! We are very excited and micah might be a little smug for guessing the sex correctly when I really had no idea. lol and it makes it great that we have all the clothes from sawyer to use over and don't have to buy a lot there.

Also Micah will be leaving iraq next week and heading to fort hood for demobilization before coming home for good. it's all very exciting!

Productivity

The last couple of days my creative juicy have been running, or I've just had a kick in the butt to actually do something... lol and really it's been a lot of fun. I've sewn, organized, and painted. I mean i do things all the time cleaning and picking up and all that jazz but it's nice having things to show for all your work. Creating is one of my great joys that God has given me... i think i need to do it more.

I was just stumbling through the internet the other day and found a super cute pattern for a little puppy stuffed animal... this is the 1st attempt so it's a little ragged the 2nd attempt was sent to my dear sweet sister who needed a long distant hug. (hope you liked it)

Here I pieced together a little dress for Sawyer for some wedding we have this summer including my mother's. I also for the second time only did a little embroidering. it turned out pretty good, though you can tell it was a novice attempt, hope it goes through the wash. and it's just super cute on sawyer... though i didn't get any pictures yet. ;) i will tho

Here is a cover out of an old pillow case. It hides a bunch of movies from view... more aesthetics than necessities.

This I've been working and for a little bit and with all the stuff that keeps coming up it took much longer than wanted to finish.... BUT it did get finished and it is my 2nd commissioned artwork ever! I'm very proud of it and think it turned out really well... i was scared for awhile... :)

here is some of the organizing I did in sawyer's room. they are on a shelf before and she would always take them and walk of with her shoes and head bands and such so i put them where she wouldn't get them and where i could always find them, and not have to go looking... kids are so crafty and we've got an extra mischievous one... lol

Speaking of the little girl here is her first ever ponytail... i just love that her hair is long enough to do this! and now if she's in a outfit that makes her gender ambiguous then i can add one of these and no one calls her a boy.... I just hate my little girl getting mistaken because i find her to be a beautiful little girl and not boyish. :)

Flood Waters

Well here in norfolk and in the surrounding areas has had a lot of rain. 2 or more inches a day for several days. the waters have started to recede now but for awhile many roads and houses were flooded from the nearby overflowing river. here are a few pictures from around town. Triathlon and such

So saturday morning i got up much earlier than normal to compete in a triathlon (a very short one.) I had never done one before and decided though i couldn't do the one i wanted, because i had sprained my ankle not long ago, i would still do one. it was actually really fun. my running was no good but i was expecting that from not running much. and though it wasn't long i still felt i accomplished something. it's always really nice getting that feeling. lately i've been very tired so i don't get it quite as much because i take a lot of naps. well i'm going to be getting a medal because i got first in my age group so thats kind of exciting and 11th overall. though there were many competitors.
sawyer has been busy busy as usual. burning off all her calorie intake. she loves climbing things and getting into everything. her newest infatuation is putting things inside of other things. like putting pens in cups or her sippy cup into a basket and then she get excited reaches in takes it out and does it all over herself. it's so fun to see her so pleased with what she can do and see her little mind working and figuring new things out. the other day she even put herself inside of casey's kennel. it was really cute but i had to help a little in getting her out... i forget how little she is...

Here sawyer is eating and playing with her sippy cup. she sometimes gets distracted from what she's supposed to be doing during mealtimes. teehee

well we've been busy here... our air conditioner broke on friday night, our apt manager's office is closed on weekends and monday, being a holiday, they were also closed. so we had to wait till yesterday to get it fixed. it wasn't too bad only saturday was really hot. sunday and monday we had storms that cooled everything down and when it pretty nice, even without the ac. but also with that sunday night i got really sick with a lot of lower abdominal pain, cramping and runs to the bathroom, which made me extremely worried for our little one on the way. the doctors said to just up on fluids and take a little medicine but i maxed out on that in 6 hours and couldn't take anymore. it was not a very fun 24 hours or so, i think it was a little longer. i was able to get in to my midwife yesterday and we heard a very strong heartbeat and it eased my worries. i was very happy that all the pains also had gone away that morning.

so the end of may was kind of a stressful one with two big stresses with the baby and all these troubles, but june seems to be making everything better. and today sawyer is now 10 months old. she is just so funny. she's walking really well now sometimes taking off almost running. she's crazy.

lately i just feel extremely blessed. i shared the recent worries with micah and though i know he really felt them and was worried himself about them he really help calm me down and trust that God has a plan with all this. i just have a bigger appreciation for the husband i have been given. and with memorial day and just so very proud of him. through all the negative people say and being away from family and friends, he has had to give up so much and i just can't wait till he's home where i can finally show him how wonderful he's been for doing everything has done and on top of army and war still being able to be my support and best friend! just love my man. God is wonderful!

Busy

So I haven't posted for awhile because I have been feeling extrememly nauseous (pregnancy downside) For a week straight pretty much all day I wasn't feeling good at all and spent most of that time lounging around my house not accomplishing much besides nessecities. But most of the sick feelings have passed, thank goodness, and this weekend i made a quick trip down to lincoln. One of my friends just moved to a house that has a washer and dryer and are lending us their portable washer! It will be so nice because right now we are paying for washing in the community washer in our apartment building. This will also make using cloth diapers much easier (i had an issue using a community washer and trying to do cloth diapers so we haven't done them yet) So we are officially doing cloth diapers! yay also on my trip I got to buy a few things for me a few things for sawyer! like a new hat! in norfolk we don't have any child specific stores so the choice of hats is slim and all much much too big for my littles head! It was a really good trip, getting to see my brother and sister-in-law for a short time (going out to lunch) and going to fun stores and being able to get out of town for a little bit! Also it is officially summer here! 87 degrees here today though very windy still nice to be out of the cold that keep taughting us by poking it's head in from time to time! Casey especially has been enjoying it because we've upped our walks and time outside!

O also sawyer is up taking steps! she's super confident and stands up in the middle of the floor and takes steps whenever she wants to. Though crawling is still much faster for her, she is still making lots of progress and is taking as many as 6 steps at a time! it's just so cute but she's so little and looks like it shouldn't be happening

Big Steps

Sawyer ahs always been a mover but saturday marked the day of her first step :O She just seems too little to be doing the things she's doing. Now she's up to 5 steps without falling down. She's going to have this walking thing down before i know what's happening. She even tries walking when no one is there next to her. Sawyer is so brave nothing holds her back, I think when she gets older it will get her into trouble, but for now it remains cute.

Also in news though it's most likely reached most of you. baby roberts #2 is on the way! I guess micah's leave was most useful than it was originally meant to be. ;) God's plans are diferent than ours sometimes and i just need to trust that its right, because i know they are. I have a appointment on the 28th. Too far away i think. but we had some issues with the military healthcare stuff that needed to get fixed before i could make an appointment and then they were really busy :( I'm sure i should learn some patience but i really don't want to lol

Zoo

Last saturday sawyer and i took a trip down to omaha to go to the zoo. we met up with one of my friends and spent the day looking at some animals. I love the zoo so it was a lot of fun. sawyer mostly liked looking at all the people, she didn't care much to see what was barely moving beyond the glass or wire. she had a lot of fun all the same though. by the end of the day we were all exhausted and went for some ice cream from coldstone yummy!

Sawyer is just so cute! I love her to peices. The other day she crawled off somewhere and I went to see where she was and I found her in the bathroom with toilet paper all around her! She saw me had a huge smile and she face and pretended she was running away (I say pretended because it lasted like 2 steps) I was laughing so hard i couldn't even be mad so I went and found my camera and got a couple pictures. She still had a huge smile on her face when I came back. I just can't wait to see what else this little girl will surprise me with.

Micah's leave

Micah was given a 2 week leave and just left on monday to go back to Iraq. We had a really great time while he was home and were able to visit quite a bit of his family which was nice. We flew to Florida and saw his grandparents, we had a great time! and then flew to Texas/New mexico and visited with his parents and brother. It was really great meeting my nephews and neice and got to know everyone better

Nerves

So micah was supposed to be getting on a plane leaving iraq today/yesterday, about 2 am iraqi time or about 6 pm wednesday central time! my mind is all over the place from trying to clean and make things nice, to nerves and jitters of seeing micah again, to utter excitement. I seem not to be able to focus on much. I haven't heard from micah yet as to when he's to arrive in omaha but i'm guessing he's either flying at the moment or waiting very impatiently in some airport at who-knows-where location. it took almost two days when micah flew to iraq, with all his long layovers and the army in it's slow ways. so i'm expecting to pick him up tomorrow. in the meantime, i'm trying to fill my time with not thinking about it. i've read two books, made sawyer some shoes and am going to try to make a little jacket to go with sawyer's easter dress i made her. i would love to go for a walk but i'm still trying to rest my ankle so it doesn't hurt too much.

So happy st patty's day ya'll! though i'm a little late and my day wasn't the best. sawyer had a good time tho! We've been getting pretty excited for micah coming home and also i was going to be running in a race in a near by town. but yesterday while running to get ready for the race i stepped off a curb funny, rolled my ankle, spraining it. good thing i had my phone and was rescued by dale and lori taylor. today i'm able to put some pressure on it and can walk and little bit but i've been icing and trying to keep rested, just kind of hard with sawyer wanting to go go go. I'm just very thankful for having some great friends and glad i know doctors that just happened to be coming to the taylors right when my foot was hurt... coincidence? i think not... lol

today was a challenge though. i had two appointments for my car, an oil change and my brake switch was out and had to be replaced (monday i was in omaha helping out a lady from church and was told my brake lights weren't working) so i had to have people help me get my car around and drive there car because i drive a manual and my hurt ankle is the clutch foot :( so very hard driving a stick with a bum leg but everything got done and fixed and now i'm tired ha. Micah is on a mission and then will be sent somewhere to wait to come home! so next week he will be in the states! yay! hopefully my ankle is good enough for traveling when he's here so i'm not too much of a party pooper!

i'm all over the place but the past two days have been super nice and yesterday i was able to go outside an play with casey and little bit (unfortunately i couldn't today though it was nicer) tomorrow might snow again but it will get nice again so we're hoping the snow doesn't really do anything.

I hope someone can understand this but i feel like i'm just babbling now hahaha oh well... love you guys

Weight

Sawyer had a weight check yesterday and she had a much better month than the last 3, gaining about 2.5 times as much and she also got taller... so she is now 12lbs 3oz and 25.5 inches. very good news.
sad news tho is micah's leave date was changed so instead of being home right now he will be home at the end of the month... but i guess it's good because we may get to see his parents so that will be good. so i guess i don't have as much to say as i thought but i love you all and i ak prayers that micah still gets his leave and it doens't get changed and that things in his unit smooth over.

Absense

Wow it seems i have been absent for the blogging world for awhile. but life has still been happening. looking back it feels like there isn't much to report but really to think about it a lot has been going on. Sawyer is now 6 months old. she had her 6 month appointment and we were told that she hasn't grown much since the last appointment. doctor said not to worry for now but we'll going to watch it so we'll have to go in the beginning of next month to have her weight checked and see if it is something to worry about. Sawyer is really crawling now, all over the place!

she even has started pulling herself up on things... everyone tell her to stop lol I'm just kidding. she's just too little to be moving so much.

but she is so fun she tries to follow me and explores.

She likes playing and using me as a jungle gym. She still loves bath time and loves eating solids. We haven't tried too much yet but we haven't found a food she won't eat yet, I'm sure it's coming. So far so good. she really like squash and bananas though.

she also seems to like other kids, i take her to the babysitting room at the YMCA when i go to work out and i have a few other groups i go to where she interacts with kids. She is such a joy though, i feel extremely blessed by being her mommy.

And sawyer had her first valentine's day!

Also God has been really moving in Micah and my lives and really strengthening and bringing us together. I just can't fathom anymore how people can't see His majesty everywhere, He speaks so loudly if you just listen. and I think we have been and relying on Him. Speaking of bringing us closer, two weeks from today Micah will be on his way back to the states for a 14 day leave. We just can't wait! We are going to visit Josh, Micah's brother, and his family for a few days and just be enjoying each other. Sawyer will get to meet her cousins! about half of them at least. I'm looking forward to the trip and just the whole thing!

So Lesley asked me to post something on here so that people could hear from me exactly how I am doing with things here in Iraq. First off, I would have to say that this is by far the hardest thing that I have ever done. I hate being away from my family, and I really dislike being with the people that I am here with. They are immature and pick on me for various things. It really reminds me of when I came back to Florida on furlough with my family in 5th grade. They all get along and I am the odd man out for some reason. I have never felt so isolated or alone in my life.
On the flip side of that, I think that it is good for me to be here. I have learned a lot about myself and i also belive that it is something that God has provided me with to take care of my family. It is hard but I think that I will make it. I need to spend more time in the Word and just put my cares and my doubts and worries on Him. Pray for me in this. Love you all.

Big week

This last week has been a big one. Sawyer had her first bath in a tub, which I posted already, I started Sawyer on solids, she started trying to really crawl so now she moves everywhere even more, and her first tooth is trying to come through, but not quite there yet.

Sawyer continues to love bath time and is enjoying starting solids just as much. She lunges at the spoon and smiles and makes all sort of noises. It took me awhile to want to start solids with her because she's my little girl and I don't want her to grow up too fast and plus I didn't really know how to start but some ladies from a mom's prayer group that I go to gave me some tips and helped me out. Sawyer not only likes eating solids but also likes trying to drink out of my glasses. I don't know if she really drinks it or if she just likes licking it but it's really cute with how small she is. I'll have to capture the moment.

She gets really happy eating like a big girl! and wants to share!

Sawyer is so determined to crawl because she wants to get Casey's "squeaker" or dog toy. this is the object that got her to start trying to crawl and it's just so cute! Micah got to see her the first time she did it really well. she doesn't always have her stomach all the way up but she definitely moves!

I also started wearing my hair with its natural wave which I never would have done before because first I had short hair and it went completely out of control and second because I really didn't know how to style it wavy. I read several times that women a lot of the time like their bodies more after having a baby. and right after having sawyer I was like definitely not! but I LOVE being a mom. everything about it. I get frustrated once in awhile and I know I have a lot to go but it makes me feels more confident in who I am. and I really do like my body better now, especially since I started working out again. I like me better, though I'm not quite where I want to be yet. Ok so that was a little bit of a tangent but wearing my hair wavy is easy just put a little stuff in it and let it air dry and to tell you the truth I think I like it. Let me know what you guys think.

I don't think I really look like a mother though, women here tend a lot to chop their hair and I'm actually growing it out! longest hair I've ever had in my 22 years of life. but I really am starting to like the wave!

Bath time

So i figured since sawyer was sitting up really well on her own that i would try giving her a bath in a regular tub. It went really well... she started to cry for a second but then sat there fine and after about 5 minutes she started having a blast. She thought it was really fun! and it was fun watching her splash and giggle in the water.

Christmas at my mom's

Yesterday (the 30th) I celebrated christmas with my mom and siblings. all and all it was a very good time. Erin, my sister, sawyer and i got there early so we went to the mall. Sawyer was having a very great time and wanted everyone in the entire mall to know, she was non-stop talking the whole time we were thereand very loudly lol. and amazingly sawyer seems to be able to sit up by herself... she can't put herself into the position but once she's there she can stay a VERY long time and i'm flabbergasted. We spent the evening eating, opening presents, watching a movie, Night at the Museum 2, and messing around, the combination for a sucessful celebration. Only thing missing was Micah :( but we love you and thought of you!

Merry Christmas everyone! Sorry we are unable to spend Christmas with most of you, but we wanted to share a little of our Christmas with you anyways. And thanks to you that shared a little with us too!
This is Sawyer's frist ever Christmas dress. She's very cute in it.Here tia Alyssa made Sawyer a little elf hat to match her cousin's Brady at his birthday party. and it's great for the holidays.We opened gifts a little early but we were able to share the experience with micah in Iraq (via web cam) So he didn't have to miss out on sawyer's first christmas/present experience. Here you can see that she loved tearing the paper and getting new toys. it was very fun watching her.Grampy and GranJan gave Sawyer a book and right away Sawyer wanted to touch it.Here she is again enjoying it. (maybe not quite the correct way yet.) but she loves it and it's very adorable!

Doctor's Appt

Ths morning Sawyer had another doctor's appt. Everything looks great. Developmentally is way ahead of where she should be at 4 months. She very healthy too, has a bit of a running nose from the cold but thats not a big deal. She did have to get two shots as well at the visit but she did great with them. She cried a little bit but once i picked her up and held her for a little bit she bounced right back to her happy self.

She is now:

24 1/8 inches (50% she'll be about as tall as me they say if she stays here)

11 pounds 6 ounces (10% she dropped from 25% but with her rolling and stuff they said it's still a healthy weight for her to be at and a good ratio with her height)

Promotion

Micah was promoted a few days ago! He's been waiting a long time for this so it's very exciting. It also means a little bit higher pay grade, which is always nice! Micah is no longer a Private (pfc)(E3) he is now a Specialist (spc) (E4). Congrats Micah We're very proud of you!!!

Thanksgiving and 4 months

So Sawyer had her first thanksgivng and she enjoyed herself. My mom gave Sawyer a spatula which she really loved playing with. It was a low key day but mostly enjoyable.

Shortly after thanksgiving Sawyer reached 4 months old. She has her 4 month doctors appt on the 7th so we'll see how much she's grown and how she's doing there. but Sawyer is a joy and i love being able to spend all my day with her at home. She makes everything very easy for me and i just feel like it's where we're supposed to be at the moment and i'm very glad that we have the means to do it, tho it means that Micah has to be away, and we miss hima lot.

Visiting Micah

So the 15th through the 18th Sawyer and I were able to go down to Fort Hood Texas and spend some time with Micah. It was really great seeing him and getting some good time together. I didn't get too many pictures (I forgot to take them) but i did get a couple good ones. His leave was for the afternoon sometime (they were released at different times each day) till 9 the next day and then wednesday the 18th he had the whole day till 6pm. I really enjoyed spending time with Micah again.

Today is Sawyer's 3 month birthday! it's crazy how fast time seems to have gone and how big she is getting. she's just on the edge of not fitting into 3 months yet but almost doesn't have anymore growing room in the newborn clothes. I'm just amazed at her features coming in and how she just seems more and more like a little person instead of this helpless little baby doll.

Sawyer is getting strong and able to hold part of her chest off of the floor now. She's exposing more and more of her personality. She's silly and loves to talk but wants people to talk to and talk back to her. we're adapting to life without micah present but we still have him around us, i have pictures of him everywhere, i walk around with sawyer and show her all the pictures. Sawyer still is extremely happy but is starting to show a wider range of emotions and gets upset maybe a little bit more but i think its because she's going through a little growth spurt. she's just preciuos and i love her bunches!

Micah's going away

Micah left for the first part of his deployment saturday morning from Lincoln to Fort Hood, TX for demobilization.

We left Norfolk on wednesday evening and had lunch with my mother, her boyfriend, and my sister at ihop. sawyer wanted to wear daddy's hat. i don't think it fits. :)

micah's unit got those who lived 60 miles or more away from lincoln hotel rooms so we were able to stay there.

thursday micah's unit packed and tried to get things ready and i wandered around lincoln and got my hair trimmed by one of my best friends. When micah got out we did so shopping, went out to eat at hu hot and went to barnes and noble. micah got a bunch of random fact books they were really and should keep him busy reading for awhile.

On friday micah was released early in the norning so we were able to hang out the whole day. We went to a movie, where the wild things are, and did some more exploring and shopping. micah bought a extremely cool backpack to take with him.

Saturaday was the send off

the national guard patrol riders stood outside before the ceremony with flags.

The nebraska govenor, a nebraska senator and congressman were at the ceremony as well as the lincoln major and two brigadeer generals one retired.

the guard moved into the auditorium.

at the end the guard moved outside and escorted the buses all the way out of town. it was really neat to watch them drive all in a row and made it really special for our soldiers.

2 Month Check Up

So the 2nd Sawyer had her 2 month check up. She now weighs 9lbs 12oz and is 22.5in long. she's staying right on the same curve and seems to be growing and developing wonderfully. the appointment wasn't completely great though because sawyer received some shots (i'm not as imformed or courageous as you alyssa!) it was AWFUL she hated it! she screamed and cried and was very traumatic for me to watch. my poor baby but she's strong and didn't let it bother her too long.

Sawyer is great. she talks and moves all the time and holds her head up like a trooper. she loves watching the tv and bright lights and playing and smiling at everyone. she's always happy and is going as long as 10 hours sleeping at night.

today we got her pictures taken and got a huge great discount because we have a friend that works there. they turned out so well. i will be mailing out some pictures to family. they are extremely cute so BE EXCITED!

So this past weekend Micah's parents were up and got to meet Sawyer for the first time. Though part of the visit got interesting, overall it was a really good visit. I love spending time with any of micah's family so it was great for me. Sawyer just loved her GranJan and Grampy. We got to go out for a couple meals and also were able to enjoy some of mom's great cooking. Micah loved the liver tacos! and i'm learning to enjoy much broader types of food as well as learning to cook better! It was nice that they were able to make the trip up here and see micah before he leaves (the 15th)

So micah and i bought into and are now part owners of a comic book/gaming store. its just a small business that will give us a little extra for savings while micah is away and will keep me busy and make time go a little faster. it's a big hang out spot for people so i'll be able to be around people and still be constantly with my family because sawyer (and casey) will be coming to the shop with me everyday. Sawyer is growing really big. She's still in newborn clothes but they are about too small i'm starting to rotate in some 0-3 month clothes only the smaller ones tho because some she is swimming in. She smiles constantly and talks and moves a lot. She's really fun to be around. She found out she can hit the little toys hanging from her car seat and gets really happy doing it though she misses a lot and her movement is still slightly awkward. on the 5th she rolled over from her stomach to her back but i haven't seen her do it since.

Happy one month birthday Sawyer!... so today Sawyer is officially one month old. she's getting a lot bigger she fits all her newborn clothing very well now. when she first arrived everything was very big on her. she probably won't fit into them much longer. she is so much fun though. she's such a joy. she's being a little more fussy but i'm trying to push her feedings apart a little more and she's not really a fan of it. Her daddy is absolutely in love with her. it's so fun to watch. it breaks his heart whenever she cries (which isn't very often thankfully) it makes me so happy to see that the love has increased so much with the addition of sawyer. i think it's safe to say that she has improved our lives.

Life with a baby

Sorry we haven't had an update.
So changing to life with a baby really has been easy. almost seems too easy. Sawyer really is wonderful. She's mostly happy, hardly ever cries, eats great (i am breast feeding and was worried how it would go but it's super easy) and sleeps really well, sleeping anywhere between 4 to 7 hours at night which i guess is amazing for a baby this new. Sawyer really isn't too demanding. She is a little fussy every now and then but it's only when she's had gas or when she really wants her binky, which she LOVES. She is all about her binky! It's definitely nice because if she's upset at all you just give her the binky and she's perfectly fine, or pick her up and hold her, she loves to be held. She makes great faces and noises all the time. It's fun just watching and listening to her. She can be a squirmer and moves a lot but at the same time is very calm. I just look at her all the time thinking how beautiful and wonderful she is. It's so unreal that she's even here really. Sometimes i don't even remember going through labor or can even believe that it happened. When i first saw her i was in complete disbelief. Really labor wasn't too terribly bad in my mind, the stitches are what are awful! I hate them! but I'll deal with them because I now have a great daughter. that's another thing saying i have a daughter, actually saying it, is so weird too me. It's hard to think of myself as a parent. It's true but it's just so hard to grasp that fact! But things have been great besides money but thats something i'm not wanting to talk about here or stress about. love you all

So Sawyer Mae Lynn Roberts finally is here August 2nd 9:32pm. She was 6lbs 8oz and 19 1/4 inches at 5 days overdue! lol She has been really great and loved being with her daddy. He kept just starring at him and when she got a little fussy he would just give her a couple kisses and she would be find. We enjoyed the few days we had together before Micah had to leave for training. He left the 6th for 12 days of medic training in Wisconsin. We were all sad to be separated so soon. luckily Sawyer is a wonderful baby and isn't too much work. she sleeps well and eats well. she gives me time to rest and relax and doesn't cry very much. she's easy to please for the time being which i know is God helping us. it would be hard to deal with if she were to fussy and micah was gone. so i know i'm blessed. most questions i've had have either been easy fixes or answered themselves. So sawyer and i have not done much besides relax at home. We did travel to lincoln to see micah off though and see my brother and sister-in-law. my mom drove though she had a apppointment because she is moving there sometime this month. well here are a few picture of our first week! o and we had sawyer's first week appointment today. She is back to 6lbs 5oz she left the hospital at 6lbs 3oz and she has stretched out an inch to 20 1/4. the doctor (Tim Davy) said she's close to perfect. Her feeding schedule is really good and she's sleeping really well. now all we need to for our family to be together for awhile. I can't wait to pick up micah next tuesday.

today i had an appointment. all pretty much the same thing except i am now 1 CM DIALATED! (a generous 1 as the doctor put it) so i'm hoping that means something will start to happen soon. we really want to meet her. I have another appt set up for next monday if nothing happens by then than we will be scheduling an appt for introductions in otherwords inducing. i'm hoping that she comes before next monday we'll see how everything happens :S well just wanted to share the good news... more to come!

Walking

So i've been getting impatient for sawyer to come... i know i have 3 more days before the due date but can't she just come now geez... Micah is back so me wanting her to wait is all over.

well in hopes of coaxing her to come early and also because casey and i like them, i've been taking a walk about every other day. i was just going around the surrounding neighborhoods but i have been reintroduced to a nice trail just on the outshirts of town called the cowboy trail. casey has lots of fun because i let him off the leash. i like it because there usually isn't a lot of people and with all the trees and the river next to the path it's just really peaceful and beautiful. a nice place to think in take in God's beauty!

I tried to get the river to the side but the sun was at a weird point and it glared and i couldn't really see what i was shooting :)

you can kind of see casey having fun to the side(he's the black spot just off the sidewalk). he runs and smells everything but he never goes too far... if he does he gets yelled at and told to come back!

I'm very excited to take sawyer on walks here!

Drill week

So just over a week till the big date and since micah is in hastings for drill till the 24th i've been trying to make sure i have everything in order. i've cleaned the apartment some and finished putting sawyer's room together. i have the hospital bag packed and i've practiced putting the car seat in the car. it's getting very exciting i just hope she doesn't decide to come early so micah won't be gone, but he was able to drive his own car instead of going on the convoy with the rest of his unit so he'll be able to speed home to us if need be. we'll see what happens and what i can accomplish this week and whether or not i'll be up for working because i'm scheduled to work through friday. i would like to to have a little extra money and though i've been feeling really good for the most part i keep getting this weird pressure in my chest that makes me kind of dizzy and it's hard to breathe. i didn't go in to work on friday because of it.
it's a scary yet wonderfully exciting feeling of thinking about little sawyer and what she'll look like and how she'll act. i finished the bumper pad today (i forgot to sew in the middle ties :S) and i was just staring at the put together crib. i'm a little afraid of being able to provide for all her needs and being a good mom but meeting her is over-shadowing it.

Well i've been going to weekly doctors appt and they've all been going well. blood pressure is still perfect. no dialation yet but i have 2 more weeks but the doctored said i'm about halfway effaced so there is progress. still feeling pretty good though i've started to have some nausea and shortness of breath but doctor send they are common things and not to worry. they usually don't last very long. i've also been getting tired a lot more but again very common. doctor said that sawyer is in the right postion, with her head 'very' far down. it's just becoming more and more real that she's on her way. last week i dropped (my belly is much lower) which kinda makes me look bigger but i haven't really gained much. micah is getting nervous with all his drill coming up pray that God times this labor well and that micah can focus on training while he's there.

this is a bad upward angle making me look more bottom heavy than i truely am (so don't think wow because i really have tappered off in the weight gain thing). forgive me i wanted to get a picture up since i haven't for awhile and if i keep procrastinating it could be too late! so it didn't turn out the best plus i'm really tired looking. boo o well :P love you all

well this last week micah was gone at training. the start of a lot of upcoming drill trainings he has before he deploys. he'll be gone quite a bit. this last week they had shooting qualifers, convoy rides and a bunch of classes. micah can tell you more details if you want. it was lonely for me but i tried to stay busy i cleaned the whole apartment and made a cover for a bumper pad i was given.

Today is the day Micah starts his new job with alltel. His training starts at noon but he has to drive 3 hours to Kearney and will be there the through tomorrow. Micah has never driven to Kearney so hopefully he doesn't get lost he left early for that reason though. He'll return, head full of knowledge, tomorrow night, just in time for his softball game. I think he was kinda nervous so pray everything goes well. love you guys.

the crib now has the things to make it useful like a mattress, crib sheets, blankets, and some stuffed animals and even a nice quilt for decoration made by a family friend... it's so cute

this is a baby sleeper that you can take around for travel and also keep the bed close for the first couple months i think it's super cute!

okay so i just had an appointment with the doctor last friday. Everything is great an in and out thing again. nothing too exciting going on there still healthy all around, still gaining some weight:( I'm now 32 weeks along 8 weeks to go!
My friend and her mom are throwing a baby shower for my this coming weekend and i'm terribly excited to see family and friends and of course get a couple of items for little Sawyer. very fun all around teehee

sorry it's been awhile for an update!

this past week has been very busy. well the whole month has really but i'm just going to talk about the week. saturday micah and i went to my cousin's wedding (on my mom's side) and micah was able to meet a little bit more of my mom's family. it was fun but kind of a long day driving 2 or so hours there and back on the same day. over all it was fun
then sunday we got to go to church for the first time in 2 weeks yay for that i like going to church so it's sad not be able to go.

sunday night i recieved a big shock my brother calls me (he never calls) saying my father was found in his trailor dead. i just saw him at easter so i wasn't expecting that news at all. on wednesday the doctors say he had a heart attack then fell and hit his head they didn't find him until 7 on sunday evening. it was especially hard on my mother and sister. things with my dad hadn't been good for awhile and the biggest thing that hurts me with it is it wasn't resolved. but it seems that maybe he was starting to find some peace which is comforting at least.

monday mom and dad arrived for a visit, it was really nice. i was pretty nervous about them coming but i really enjoyed them once they were here. micah and dad got to go golfing and play racquet ball we played pool two nights and micah and i won most of the games but it would have been fun either way. we watched some movies and played some cards games. a very sucessful visit despite the time.

so throughout their visit we were trying to keep in with input for my fathers memorial service. which was kind of hard because it's 4 hours away and some of my family was being difficult but in the end it all worked out. the memorial service there was on thursday and though it was a hard day it was good. my grandpa is finally giving up on bickering and the rest of the family wants to break down the walls that were built up from the tension of my father and the rest of my immediate family. the day had some very hard moments but it was an enjoyable time for the most part spent with family.

well on to baby news i'm 27 weeks 28 tomorrow which is the start for the 3rd trimester! micah and i picked out a name for our little girl on the way. Sawyer Maelynn (soi-yur may-lin) the middle name is kind of like two separate names lol i know weird but we like so if you don't get over it. lol things seem to be going well she is very active, kicking and moving all the time, i can definately tell when she sleeps now though, gives me a break. i have my appointment the 8th and i have to do the blood sugar test i heard it taste nasty so we'll see how it goes. pretty sure i'll have no problem with it though but i don't believe any of my family has had the gestational diabeties and my blood pressure has always been healthy

SO i wanted to post this the day we found out but our scanner wasn't working and then i was EXTREMELY busy with homework. and i just finally got the scanner to work from micah's computer so i can put up the ultrasound pictures yay! when we did the ultrasound she didn't want to turn her face so we didn't get a good look at her but i'm sure she's beautiful! i only saw a profile but it was still so amazing.

Anniversary

This last weekend Micah and I spent some time together to celebrate our anniversary. it wasn't actually our anniversary but it was the only weekend that would work to get some time away just us. it ended up being a great weekend. Micah on thursday and friday made up some drill in lincoln and we stayed the night with my brother and sister in law. on friday micah was done around 12:30 with drill so we thought we might as well make our way to omaha. the short 40 something miles ended up taking forever because they decided to shut down the interstate and take all 3 lanes and make them all get off at one exit so traffic was back up for miles and it took almost 2 hours to get to omaha. o well once we got to town we stayed in a hotel that look like a old fort or castle it was kinda fun.
omaha has a fun little section downtown that has a bunch of restaurants and cool stores, called the old market so we walked around there and found an awesome leather shop and candy store. then we went out to eat at a place that has pool and brews their own root beer so micah was happy it was a very nice place. we found a huge movie theater close to our hotel and saw monsters vs aliens in 3d becuase the other one we wanted to see was sold out but it was really funny. all in all it was a great evening the next morning we went to the Henry Dorrly zoo. we talked to a bunch of the zoo keepers and got the inside scoop about some of the animals and the gorillas were really active chasing and hitting each other. it was entertaining and one even came up and hit the bubble window we were in.

Army News

so Micah had drill this weekend and they gave more updated information about his units deployment. it's both exciting and scary. Good news they won't be gone for 18 months instead they are gone for 12! very happy about this! and he won't be leaving until october instead of september which gives me another month with him before and 6 more months afterward. so thats awesome.
he found out where he'll be and what he'll be doing. he'll be in northern iraq and is going to be the line medic on convoys which is kind of scary because the trucks are one of the more dangerous jobs because of IED's and stuff. and i guess northern iraq is kind of a hot spot at the moment. maybe it will settle down in the coming months but still scary to know. pray now for protection of him and his unit awhile they are over, i earlt start won't hurt a thing.
some more good news Micah got promoted back to E3 which is great. a little pay increase and higher ranking is always nice. plus they said he will most likely make E4 before they are deployed also good news. so thats what he has told me for now we'll see what new things will happen in the months to come. love you guys

Well i've been keeping busy... i'm thinking about how i want to convert the guest room to accommodate a crib and such for when the baby because we most likely will stay in our place at which we are now. so i cleaned our room and rearranged so last week i rearranged the guest room with a little more today and i used my sewing machine for the first time today made a band that can go over pre pregnancy pants that i can't zip all the way. it's been fun but frustrating.

Guest Bedroom before was kinda used for storage and get stuff out of the way. we've never had people visit us so never had a reason to use it.

Ultrasound

So i had my appointment yesterday and everything went well. but that is all overshadowed because we are going to be having another ultrasound next month to find out the sex of the baby! i'm very excited. next appt i will be 24 weeks along. right now i'm 20 weeks exactly half way through the 40weeks it's going so fast! the apointment is at the 7th at 3:30. it was hard scheduling this one to fit with both micah and my schedule but it worked out. we have alot going on this next month and the news will make it just even more exciting and busy, we don't really have anything for the baby so along with drill our anniversary, a wedding a bridal shower and us trying to celebrate we'll have to try and fit in deciding everything we'll have to do to get our place ready, clean and decorated. fun stuff is coming our way!

Well yesterday was the first day i realized other people could also feel the baby's movement so micah finally got to feel his baby!... He probably could've felt it before but i didn't know it cuz everything is new to me so i didn't know the movement was strong enough (i'm still learning this okay)i get to share the little guy(gurl) now lol... Also yesterday i bought my first ever pair of maternity pants! They are very comfortable but were expensive! I'm going to try and find some cheaper ones for my next pair or might even be as courageous as to try and SEW SOME GASP! So here is a pic of the bump and kinda the pants, you can't see them the best but make due i was doing it myself haha

ps. i lied in my last blog! didn't mean to... appointment is the 11th not the 18th oops hopefully this next time they will tell me when the ultrasound is and when we find out it's sex! i hope but i'm learning to be patient. well sort of... ha

hello everyone... sorry i haven't been one alot of been really busy most all my spare time has been spent reading. i'm taking a literature class and i had started a series before the semester and i've just had to finish them so i've probably read 9 books in the last month it's been fun but my eyes have gone cross eyed.
so anyways i'm now 18weeks along and i'm starting to get the little belly i have a picture for last week i believe wow time is a mix of slow and fast and i can't remember when i do anything. well i have an appointment on the 18th but yet again no ultrasound expected maybe the next time. i'm getting very annoyed and impatient for the ultrasound. my appoints are worthless in the meaning time everytime they tell my my blood presure is perfect and the baby's heartbeat is strong. and thats pretty much all i do well and get weighed which i could do without knowing my weight all the time. it's kind of a hard subject for me. but thats all i well have for now.

today as i've been sitting here this morning trying to write a paper for school i kept feeling a weird bubbly feeling move across my lover right side of my abdomen. i've kinda felt it before but it's such i new thing i never knew what it was. but today it's been so much that it just has to be the baby. i'm terribly excited. i'm just 16 weeks along which is just the start when doctors say you'll feel movement. i have another in a week and a half.

14 week appt

well today we had our 14 week doctor appointment and it went pretty good. i'm perfectly healthy and the baby's heartbeat is strong. i'm still not quite sure when the next ultrasound is which i really looking forward to so it's disappointing its not here yet... but at least i have something to be anticipating. last week i took a picture of a little tummy can't see too much. i took a while to get it here because the camera died and i couldn't find the cord. o also micah took a picture as well.

christmas

well the christmas season is over. this year we got to go to tennessee to spend christmas with micah's parents, who are a year break from missions in mexico, as well as micah's sister and her family. it was great to relax and be with family for awhile. we got to see our niece trinity 1 and our nephew brayden 3 i just had tons of fun with them and they both seemed to love our litle dog casey, mostly brady though he would chase him and laugh. we were kinda buddies when we were down. he's so joyful it just makes everyone happy. i have some pictures but haven't had much time to download them to the computer yet.
the drive home was good weather but hard knowing we had to come home to cold weather. by time we got home we were exhausted and actually the next day were sick, it went away fast though by the next day we were good to go.
new years day we celebrated christmas with my mom, my brother and his wife and my sister. it was fun we watched movies and played some games. micah got a stunt track for his cars which was fun to put together and i got a sewing machine very exciting. so added to the gifts i got from micah's fmily i am going to turn out to be very domestic! hopefully i can do that all better.
o and th day after we got back i had a doctor's appointment it went very well. got the thumbs up on my health and we go to hear the heartbeat which was pretty neat. my next apointment is the 28th which will just be a check up again but in two appointments we may have another ultrasound and by then we might be able to find out the sex which will be very exciting. well i'm off for now

yesterday i had my doctors appointment and i was very nervous. up till this point i was not really excited about the pregnancy because i didn't want to be disappointed. but i got to have an ultrasound done. and the baby is exactly the size it's supposed to be and we got to hear the heartbeat and though it doesn't look like much and it's very small we got to see it. it was so exciting. the doctor told us that coming in that day because of our last pregnancy a repeat was about 30% but after hearing the heartbeat and having an ultrasound the chances went down to about 7%. that means there still is a chance but i like the sound of it dropping so much. o and they even printed some pictures out to show to us. and we now get to show you our baby roberts on the way. due date July 28th

this one shows the heart beat pulses in the bottom half. and the upper right hand corner shows the beats per minute. it's so cool that the heart is beating already and just how fast things develop. it's amazing

Christmas Time

christmas is getting closer and we've been starting to pick up the Christmas spirit. we bought our very first tree ever. very exciting it was very inexpensive which makes it even better. it already has all the lights on it. we just don't have very many ornaments on in. my godmothers over the years have given me some so as of now those are all we got. lol o well just means our collection can grow over the years.

Hi guys. I just wanted to write a little. My head has been in a million places the last month or more. For the last little while I've just been incredibly discouraged, and I haven't been able to put my finger on it. It seems to be a mixture of anger, dissapointment, fear and pain. I can't tell you how much my heart aches at the loss of the child that Lesley and I were going to have. I can't think about it without feeling a hole in my chest. I can't stop thinking about my family. I want to call all of you every day just to say hi and tell you all how much I love you! With Papa not doing well and with all that's happened with Uncle Mike and that whole situation, I just feel at a loss. My head and my heart just feel empty. And I figured out why I felt so empty. Its because I've been living my life for me. I'm a selfish jerk most of the time. I'm not a very good person, and I'm a very bad husband. These aren't things that I'm proud of. I want your prayers. I want to live so badly. I want my family to be strong. I want my family to be happy, and the only way for that to happen is for me to rest completely in the arms of my Jesus. I want Him so badly, I just don't really know how to get there. So please pray for me, that I would grow to know Him better, and that He would for once be real in my life, not just an emotional experience or a sidenote. That he would be my ONLY goal and my greatest desire. Thank you. And I love you all.

So we're home and returning to life as usual. the first day back was tiring. micah slept late and i got up to clean and get caught up with our world. we arrived home on monday at 5 am! not as long as a trip as going down to florida but still long.

today was the first day of micah's new job. he's getting paid salary which is nice, means his pay is steady. a friend of ours a lady about my mom's age has a heating business and needs some more regular help and heard he didn't have a job and just asked he wanted to work with her. it was a very nice proposal and much needed. i'm hoping thing will do well there.
and all next week we will be gone in florida and tennessee wherever it takes us, to see papa and mom and dad. and probably alyssa and them i'm hoping at least. i'm very excited to go and see family. and it's very important to micah so makes even more better. it will be a long trip driving about 20 hours or so but all worth it.

Drill

Micah for the last couple of days and for the next week is at drill with the national guard. he has been in Lincoln but will be going to Hastings for more training today. it is sad being apart but it isn't for long and we got some good news while he was there. because of micah's health profile he probably will never get deployed to iraq. i like the sound of that! and also micah has put in for a transfer. the paper work for it should be done by october 1st so anytime after that we could go. and where he put in a transfer for you may ask to Chattanooga, TN. micah wants to be with family and of course how can i object i would love that as well. so i guess preparations have started to get us ready to move and live somewhere else. the only thing is micah's unit now isn't much happy with all the paper work they've had to do for him but o well we won't be staying there. o but i am very excited to get an army id sometime soon here.

1 month and move in

So it's offical we have been married one full month, today! it's been great it's was kinda stressful getting all the paperwork done and name changed on everything and made ours not just singular. but after all the running around and stress of getting things done we got to relax and enjoy just being with each other. well for the most part but now we're getting ready to move again!

we went in to sign the lease on our apartment and we are moving in this coming weekend! it's earlier then we originally planned but we just wanted to be in our place as soon as possible. We need to get a couple of furniture pieces like a table and maybe a couch. but i'm sure things will work out. we're looking at going to offutt air force base in omaha and looking there becuase everything there is tax free and may be cheaper for us. i think it's fun that only some people can get in to shop there makes me feel important. i just want to get everything of our own and have a comfortable place to life and have people visit us and have fun. nothing too extravagant but nice.

We got approved yesterday for an apartment. it's two bedrooms, incase someone wants to come visit us *wink wink*, and 1.5 baths it's not huge but it's big enough for us. I'm very excited to move in and to have a space of our own. looking at houses didn't work out but someday it will. God has different plans for us and i'm ready to see what they are. Pray the moving goes well we move around june 1st. and we'll be there at least 6 months because that is the lease length they do. we're getting everything packed up well. super duper excited.

Hello Everyone, for those of you that were unable to come to our wedding we wanted to share our special day with you. and let you know that we love you all. it was just a nice intimate wedding, with close friends and family. there were a million pictures taken but i just wanted to share highlights and the good ones.

Surgery and Dog

Well, this morning was my surgery, a DNC. just here to say that everything went well. I was nervous going into it because i have never been in the hospital or had a surgery before, lucky i know, and also never had an IV in, so it was bit of an experience for me. going under anesthesia is interesting i don't really remember much of anything accept being very tired for quite a long time and still a little now and waking up to nurses and falling back to sleep after the procedure. It must've been hard for micah sitting, waiting to hear how things went and to see me, it almost broke my heart to see him just wanting to take me out of the hospital and not have to be poked and proded. he is amazing though and in an effort to try and cheer me up he tricked me into thinking he had to meet with with someone in his unit and instead handed me a puppy. it's a small black and tan chihuahua. the dog i've always wanted. he's absolutly the cutest things in the world. i couldn't help be cry when recieving this dog, which we named casey lee in memory of our lost one. it's from the one i love most in this world and can't wait to share my life with. Thank you all for your prayers they meant a lot and surely were heard today. I have some antimicrobial/antibiotics to take for a couple days and have to meet with the doctor in 2 weeks, but for now everything looks well and it shouldn't interfer and complicate any future pregnancies. so we cn try again after 6 months. I love you all very much. now i thought i'd share some candid shots of casey.

hi guys. just some pictures to show you a little bit of what we got using money we received for our wedding. they were all very nice things and we are very thankful for the provisions. lol. we will not use them until we have our own place but they were all what we wanted.

thank you all for your prayers and thoughts for lesley and i. things have been hard, but i know that there is a higher reason for things that we can not see and will not understand in this life. my heart feels broken. i'm not sure i have ever ached like i do now, but i have so much still to be thankful for that i can not stay down for long. but october the 3rd will always be a day of rememberance. and even though we lost, the child accomplished many things in our relationship that could not have happened otherwise. it gave me the heart of a father and a desire to be a man of God. it gave lesley a deep desire to be a mother and to care for things of her own and ultimately, it brought lesley and i back to eachother. and for that we are forever thankful. thank you for your prayers. we are getting married on monday the 21st of this month. we wish that our whole families could be present but we are planning to renew our vows sometime in the next year. so we will give plenty of notice for that as that will be our large event and we would like to have everyone there.

lesley will be going on monday for her operation. i believe its called a dnc. but i'm not sure. it will be hard but we are glad for the closure. the doctors said that they didn't see anything abnormal with the test done yesterday. pray that all goes smoothly on monday at 9:30 am. we should be out around 1 pm that afternoon.

Just a Little Update

Hi everyone we haven't had a post in a while so i decided its time to do an update. well i'm in my second year of college at UNL, and it's been going really well. I just got done with a big project and i can show you how dangerous working with cutting devise can be. its not the clearest picture becuase its from my cell phone. but ouch it hurt. all my classes are good but i've been having troubles staying focused.
We have a lot going right now which is exciting and stressful. my mother sold her house and we have been moving into a rental house so she has some time to decided where to go from here. its good to get out of the house but we had very short notice to move only 3 weeks. Along with that Teens Encounter Christ is this weekend which my mom micah and i are all involved with. Micah and I actually met during a TEC weekend. so it's a very important thing to us. it' is going to be fun but it's piles up on us. So we'd appreciate prayers for both moving in and the weekend of TEC.

but very exciting news micah got a good job with Direct TV and starts training next monday. we're very happy and excited for this opportunity given to micah. it should be a good career job for him, that has flexibility and gives each day a little something different, which will be something very good for micah and the way he works.

So all seems to be going well just stressed with everything going on and the divorce still not over with, but i hope this was a good update i'll try to get pictures up of the new house and micah and I. love you guys
