Last visit to San Antonio

well, for my mother's birthday which is the 25th she decided she would like to take a road trip to Texas with me to see Micah. and this will be our last trip down because micah will be graduating next month and coming home. it was a fun filled trip, though Austin took like 3 times longer to get through then it should the time together was great. we did a lot of things throughout our weekend. i'll show some pictures to walk you through it. there is a lot of them because we had three cameras.

micah hugging mom... he was excited to see us... we're at sonic to get some food after our long drive.

i just liked this picture... still friday night at sonic... it stormed really bad that night.

we ate at a taco cabana... it was a first for all of us.

we went and played putt-putt golf. it was a lot of fun.

i got a hole-in-one... this was my celebration.

here's mom putting.

the mini golf course had a waterfall fountain isn't it pretty?

saturday night micah and i dressed up and went to eat at chilli's

me taking a picture of micah at jack in the box... another first for us... brunch on sunday

the rest of sunday was spent on random events like pet stores , here in petco micah and i played with cat litter... seems odd but it was just like a sand box.

i tried to fit in the cat box... think i did?

we ended the night at texas land and cattle steak house. micah had a group picture but i didn't get it from him. awww sorry. hope you liked our pictures as much as we liked the trip... love you all

San Antonio (round 2)

another visit to san antonio. this time i flew down, and i went by myself. i stayed on base which was nice being close to micah, especially being alone. though i was there all friday micah and i didn't get time together. we did get most all of saturday and sunday. it was an uplifting weekend for both of us, and well needed from all our time sent apart. i took some pictures of the base and of us along the way.

this is the px, it's sort of like a mall.

here is where micah stays. it's his company headquarters

a sign of his unit

a closer look of his company headquarters. he's an alpha gator.

this is the lodging where i stayed which was just across the street from his headquarters.

just hanging out in my room and yes micah has no eyebrows.

i brought my laptop and the lodging had internet excess so micah got on because he doesn't get to that often.

me in the dress i made all by myself. the first one i actually sewed without help from my mom. i was pretty proud of myself.

us in the riolto movie theatre. we saw 300. the theatre was cool because you ordered food inside the theatre. it was a fun experience.

outside the theatre waiting for a taxi. this weekend was my first time in one and i got to be in quite a few.

at burger king on base for breakfast.

micah and i walked around the base.

just a couple cute poses.

i jumped up and took a quick picture to surprise him.

micah giving his angry face. we were waiting before micah went to study hall.

bowling. it was really cheap on base. only 5.60 for both of us with shoe rental. we played a couple games.

my turn.

San Antonio

Well, i took a road trip from nebraska all the way to san antonio, texas. through 3 states and about 14 hours later erin, julie (a friend of ours) and i were spending time with micah. it was an interesting trip. on the way down around the kansas, nebraska border we saw about 5 cars in the ditch and about 7 cars being towed. after we went through oklahoma and almost getting in a wreck, we stopped for gas. right after getting gas we witnessed a big head on collision and had to wait an hour to give our statements because we were the only witnesses. it happened right in front of us. the people in the accident for the most part seemed alright but they were all taken to the hospital for sure. both cars were probably totalled. well we got to spend time with micah and two of his friends, ben wilson and steve lyons. it was alot of fun. but let's just say that next time i'm going i'm flying.
here's one picture of cars in the ditch.

it was so nice out we posed for pictures

erin's turn

our waitress at hard rock cafe. she was a little eccentric.

this is ben wilson. we was eating sprinkles and didn't want his picture taken.

aren't we so cute. again this is hard rock cafe. shortly after mom and dad called from mexico.

at the pxtra on base. we were sitting on the patio furniture. at this time in nebraska it was around 30 degrees and we were basking in 65 degree weather.

lounging at pete and judy's house. they are an extremely nice christian couple that took and boys in and they made dinner for us when we were down. steve and ben are on the floor and julie in on the couch we were watching independence day.

Graduation

Well, micah graduated from basic. i'm very proud of him. he tried very hard and must have done something right because he graduated 2nd in his class. he has a special certificate and everything for it. and it will also help boost him up the ranks a little faster, which is good for him. also, our parents got to meet, meaning tim and janet and my mom, yvonne not my father. i was nervous for everyone to meet at first but we had a blast. we went bowling, out to eat at applebee's and golden corral, watched movies and just hung out. o and micah's friend chad kingham went along with us as well, so we had a pretty good sized group. here are some pictures of our time together.
this is when we first arrived. micah is right in the front row.

Winter

All throughout the midwest is getting clobered by winter weather. This is the view out my apartment window. Went to bed and woke up to white. Most of the winter has been mild and abnormally warm, so when ice and snow comes it's a big surprise.
Oklahoma where Micah is getting it much worse then we are here. Pray they keep the boys there warm when they're outside excercising.

Here are some more pictures of some of the storm we've had here in Nebraska. I didn't take the pictures but they are amazing.
