Graduation

Well, micah graduated from basic. i'm very proud of him. he tried very hard and must have done something right because he graduated 2nd in his class. he has a special certificate and everything for it. and it will also help boost him up the ranks a little faster, which is good for him. also, our parents got to meet, meaning tim and janet and my mom, yvonne not my father. i was nervous for everyone to meet at first but we had a blast. we went bowling, out to eat at applebee's and golden corral, watched movies and just hung out. o and micah's friend chad kingham went along with us as well, so we had a pretty good sized group. here are some pictures of our time together.
this is when we first arrived. micah is right in the front row.

Winter

All throughout the midwest is getting clobered by winter weather. This is the view out my apartment window. Went to bed and woke up to white. Most of the winter has been mild and abnormally warm, so when ice and snow comes it's a big surprise.
Oklahoma where Micah is getting it much worse then we are here. Pray they keep the boys there warm when they're outside excercising.

Here are some more pictures of some of the storm we've had here in Nebraska. I didn't take the pictures but they are amazing.

basic information

well, first off, basic training is not the ideal family thing. you don't get to spend an awful lot of time with the people that you care about. but such is life. i guess it has been okay so far, i've done pretty well with the exception of being sick for prolonged periods of time, but i believe that all that is past. i have been healthy and feeling better and better for the last three weeks or so. i have only fifteen days left of basic training and after that i am enroute to san antonio for my advanced individual training (AIT). my job in the military or my "MOS" is a sixty-eight whiskey (68W), that is a combat medic. my time in san antonio will be entirely focused on this medical training. once the sixteen weeks there is completed i really don't know what is next. i am supposed to go to the university of nebraska in lincoln for reserved officer traing course (ROTC) but i am being told that that might change. i hope not but we will see. i will update asap with more news on that when i have any.
